Light up a Life 2026

Join us for an evening of remembrance as we invite the local community to come together to honour loved at our annual remembrance event, where everyone is welcome.

From 3.00pm our volunteers will serve homemade cakes and refreshments, offering the opportunity to meet members of our charity and clinical team before the main event begins at 4.00pm.

The event brings together the powerful vocals from the Coastal Community Choir, candle-lit reflections and an opportunity to add in-memory decorations to the Christmas tree as we look towards the end of the year and the beginning of a new one.

Be part of our Wave of Light ceremony and the lighting of the Hospice Christmas Tree. During the wave of light, attendees will be invited to hang their dedications on the Christmas tree before the lights are dimmed and we join together in illuminating the darkness with our lanterns, taking a moment to reflect and remember. Followed by the lighting of the newly decorated Christmas Tree.

Our wave of light lanterns are available to pre-purchase alongside your ticket. We advise early purchases due to limited stock being available on the day.

The dedications are available exclusively at the event. These will remain on the tree until the 12th night and may be collected during this time. Any remaining dedications will be respectfully returned to the Hospice and buried within the grounds.

Offer a picture of your loved one to be added to Memorial Slideshow, where you can submit a photo and dedication to your loved ones which will be on display during the event, as well as the option to add their name to our Book of Remembrance. The last date for submitting your photo and/or name is Thursday, 26th November 2026. You will receive information on how to submit this information following your booking.
