Get ready for an extraordinary experience at our Annual Butterfly Releases. We are thrilled to announce that this year's releases will take place in Louth, Bourne, Spalding, and our very own grounds at our hospice in Boston.
The first release will be held on Saturday, May 27th, amidst the picturesque backdrop of Spout Yard Louth.
Whether you have a personal connection to the Butterfly Hospice or not, our Butterfly Releases offer a special afternoon for families and friends to gather and honour their loved ones. It's a safe space where cherished memories are shared and conversations flow freely.
You can order butterflies in advance online or by contacting our Charity Office on 01205 311222. For those who prefer, we also offer the option to purchase butterflies in person at our retail stores.
While a limited number of butterflies will be available for on-the-day purchase, we encourage advance booking to ensure your participation.
What can you expect during the release?
Upon arrival, pre-ordered butterflies can be collected from our booking desk. Take your time exploring our fundraising stalls featuring an exciting tombola and vibrant plant displays. Don't forget to visit our refreshment stall, serving a tempting selection of treats alongside tea, coffee, and juices.
At 2:30 pm, our remembrance services commence, often supported by the mayors from each respective town. Led by our Chief Executive, the service offers poignant moments of reflection through heartfelt poems and music. Our roll call of names provides solace to families, followed by the uplifting release of butterflies—a breathtaking sight to behold.
All our events are free to attend, and we warmly welcome everyone. Whether you come alone or with a group, there will be plenty to engage in, friendly faces to connect with and a heartfelt welcome awaiting your arrival.
