Going Green 💚

Updated: Nov 22, 2022

At the Butterfly Hospice Trust, we have taken our first steps towards making a positive environmental impact and achieving our Green Agenda, in line with our environmental corporate responsibilities.

As a charity, we are now providing reusable drink bottles to all our staff to reduce our reliance upon single-use plastic and reduce our overall waste which impacts our environment. This is the first of many changes we aim to make over the next 12 months.

What is Corporate Responsibility?

Corporate Responsibility is about the impact an organisation makes on society, the environment and the economy. It incorporates the ethics which drive an organisation’s activities and how it can remain sustainable and viable over the long term.

It starts with recognising that an organisation’s activities impact society, the environment, the economy and its own workforce. At The Butterfly Hospice Trust, we are committed to maximising the positive impacts of our operations for all.

From the four main areas under corporate responsibility (Workplace, Marketplace, Environment and Community) we are now shifting our focus to the ever-growing threat of climate change and making changes to reduce our overall impact and sustainability, for now and for the future.

You can find out more about our commitments within our Environmental Sustainability Policy.
